Practice proper sleep hygiene

You need to get the proper amount of sleep every night which is about 7-8 hours for adults.

Sleeping tips:

1. Do not take caffeine after lunch because it is a stimulant that can keep you awake for hours.
2. Turn off or dim the lights in your house at night to help your body get ready for bed.
3. Turn off electronics and make sure that your room is quiet to help you sleep. Wear earplugs if there is no way to eliminate the noise.
4. Buy a mattress that is conducive to sleeping. You can talk to a sleep doctor to help you find the right mattress.
5. Do not smoke because nicotine is a stimulant. The chemical will keep you awake longer because it increases your blood pressure and heart rate.
6. Alcohol should not be consumed at all but especially before going to bed. Alcohol is a diuretic that will cause you to urinate a lot, disrupting your sleep by making you go to the bathroom multiple times at night.

Drinking tea is one of the best ways to take herbs. Some herbs have chemicals and compounds that can help you relax to combat the symptoms of PTSD.

Chamomile tea

This tea is a mild sedative because of its calming properties, which may soothe your symptoms.

Lavender tea
